Does anyone have any experience with the Eldorado sluice?
And does any one have the GPAA Gold Prospectors magazine with the review of that sluice by Jim Klein, back probably 9 to 10 years ago?
This is another of those injection molded sluices and the US rep says it out performs the Le-Trap sluice on fine gold. I have found the Le-Trap sluice to do a real good job on fine gold, so if this is really better, that would be something.

Yes I have experience with the Eldorado. The worst sluice I ever used. If it outperforms the Le-Trap according to him I'd say he's never used the Eldorado in real life conditions. It's CAD designed and as such only adapted for certain conditions, you will never sit and feed the computer will all the variables in a stream. In my test with cons It takes about 10 table sthingys of high black sand % material to fully stop the vortex action in the WHOLE sluice. In my trails and uses of the sluice I've NEVER seen a piece of gold thats been bigger then 1 millimetre in size from it. They say it does recover finer though in 2 years no one ever wanted to prove it to me. I've found you NEED to: 1. Pre-screen to 10 mm for any fine gold recovery at all (meaning smaller then 2 mm gold) 2. Feed it very slowly since it has a tendency to overload 3. Keep a close eye on it all the time, I don't think that sluice is reliable. Clean out every 15-30 Min. is about right but don't expect any gold smaller then 1 mm. Hope this helps, Eu

Thanks for the reply. I am sorry I haven't been here to get it. I looked at it on line and it looked like too many small riffles. I expect it would get overloaded.
I guess I will stick with the letrap unless I see something else at the gold show this weekend. I want to see an Angus MacKirk and see how it compares to the Letrap.

lol I actually thinks it does better capturing black sand then gold. Even the big one's get overloaded quickly.

So there were no Mackirks at the GPAA Gold show in San Bernadino and no Le-Traps for sale.
I am going to go to the Fresno show and if I don't see them there I will order one from my local supplier and just wait for it.

A local member just sold me a LeTrap, so I am just going to the Fresno show to see if there are any Angus Mackirk Sluices to see. I have another obligation on Saturday, so I will be heading up on Sunday.
