New prospector here. Just wanted to see if anyone has any experience with the fairly new Grizzly III Sluice box from Bear Bottom Mining. They have a video of it out on youtube.com. Their website is www.bearbottommining.com There are no reviews that I can find out on the net. THanks. molegar.

[glow=red,2,300]Looks like a nice unit. I'd want to see one in person before I'd be buying one.

Well I went ahead and took a gamble and ordered one. It looks like a good item and from getting in touch with the guy who makes it, I feel good about it. It should be in this week. I'll be sure to try it out right away and let you all know how it works!

Nice Grizzly III Sluice that I saw on bearbottommining website. But I already have a LeTrap Sluice. It is the best sluice I ever had for gold cleaning and running well through the washes. I would like someone who should demo me with Grizzly III Sluice clearly during Gold Show or any mining claims. I totally agree with what eucitzen said. ;D

Things a joke, you would do better using your fingers. Have you had the chance to try it out? Not questioning your experience in prospecting or knowledge but could you tell me why you think it's a joke. Mine was delivered earlier this week and I haven't had a chance to take it out to the field. I had a chance to run some dirt that I knew had no gold in it but just to try its operation. After running it I took the collected/trapped stuff from the box and put it into a pan and panned it out. Of course, no gold but the amount of black sand caught in the box and into my pan was a good amount. Maybe I'm naive or just inexperienced but I felt confident that had there been gold in that dirt it would have been right in my pan with the black sand. I guess I'll just have to really wait to see how it is when I get it out to some areas I know that there is gold. ;D

Not only that, you dump water, then you dump water again creating unnecessary waves of water and pushing your small gold down and out. then it got all clogged up and you have to clean the hopper every 3 shovel fulls. just a joke. as for your black sand amount, thats one of the problems, we have maybe 30% more black sand in it than we would have using a good ol sluice, the black sand will fill your carpet and whatever else creating no riffles to catch the gold, just another pointless ploy in the prospecting world. about as useful as that blue hand held trommel.

I bought one while deployed, when I returned home, I put it into use and found a few issues:
Constant lifting of water buckets and materials
Constant cleaning of built in classifiers
Tedious set up for the correct angle and your always resetting it as you have to do allot of clean ups to keep it working right

Obviously the idiots an expert at prospecting. Yes it will take some work to dump dirt and water into boys and men it will actually take some physical exertion to run dirt and water through the Grizzly Sluice III.....I will put my box up against anything on the market and win hands down, It takes 60 seconds to set up my sluice box, that is unless you don't have the dexterity to ride a tricycle.....It takes 20 minutes to set up a cheap, useless in stream sluice box!!! And it loses 50% of your gold!! How smart is that? My box saves 99.9 percent of the flour that in stream sluice boxes will never capture!! And my box will not only save 100 percent of the coarse gold, but precious and semi-precious stones as well. If you don't want to leave your lawn chairs, then please don't buy one of my boxes.

I have had my grizzly sluice now for a few months. I packed this to a remote ancient water fall i found here in Arizona. After hiking my water with me and running through a few buckets of classified material, I have 1/2 ounce with some 1 gram nuggets down to microscopic flour gold. This is an excellent toll for prospecting. I have recently rigged mine with a 750gph water pump and a 12 volt battery to recirculate which has the same results but you can move 10 times the material. On first try, i ran through 47 buckets of classified material (roughly 1 cubic yard) I would say for those of you that want to find gold, the grizzly sluice is as essential as the gold pan itself.

I have been thinking about this sluice box for some time. I am unable to drive due to a stroke. I have a wet weather creek on my property and want to see if there is any gold in it. Wish they would offer a PVC spray attachment to hook up to either a water hose, to use either a pump or hook up to a water hose!

WOW. I was considering purchasing one, based on the comments of friends who have used one. However, after the unnecessary and belittling comments from Bear Bottom Mining "Obviously the idiots an expert at prospecting" " unless you don't have the dexterity to ride a tricycle" I think I will just do what he says "please don't buy one of my boxes." because Id rather give my money to someone with a little more class. Have a great day!
