WOW. I was considering purchasing one, based on the comments of friends who have used one. However, after the unnecessary and belittling comments from Bear Bottom Mining "Obviously the idiots an expert at prospecting" " unless you don't have the dexterity to ride a tricycle" I think I will just do what he says "please don't buy one of my boxes." because Id rather give my money to someone with a little more class. Have a great day!

You buy a slueth to find gold not to be patronized by the maker you big dummy. The man makes a good product and he is defending it.

I have had my grizzly sluice now for a few months. I packed this to a remote ancient water fall i found here in Arizona. After hiking my water with me and running through a few buckets of classified material, I have 1/2 ounce with some 1 gram nuggets down to microscopic flour gold. This is an excellent toll for prospecting. I have recently rigged mine with a 750gph water pump and a 12 volt battery to recirculate which has the same results but you can move 10 times the material. On first try, i ran through 47 buckets of classified material (roughly 1 cubic yard) I would say for those of you that want to find gold, the grizzly sluice is as essential as the gold pan itself. Personaly. I've been studying the difference between sluices. ready report after report. especially Randy Clarkson placer recovery final summary. any here read it. personally I'd suggest it to everyone who is mining. you'll understand. the grizzly fallows all of the main rules set up in there. BIG 1 don't put riffles over corrugated steel. see they both make a vortex and buy putting one on top the other it destroys the 2 vortex systems. they work against each other and cause compaction. now the argument could be made that he was doing a report on equipment that runs 100,000 pounds of material a day and is always kept at the optimum setting to recover the most out of it and that the equipment where using doesn't need to be at that level. as a a small miner you will run into 100 different problems a day. and if you want to be successful then your equipment should be at the best running conditions possible period. having the sluice set up like they do is retarded. end of story. simply because all the problems. cause if the sluice is set up capture like professional equipment then no matter what you run into your equipment will still be able to handle it because it's set up right. Now the other problem. people saying that you have to dump water and that causes allot of problems. A the grizzly is set up to handle water in the best way so that it never over flows The riffles. you'll fill up the hopper with water before you flood the riffles because that's the way it's set up. 2 if your smart yout figure out an easier way. and lastly the grizzly is the best piece of equipment out there for 1 reason. and I'll put up mine against anyone elses. here's why. are you going to backpack 4 miles up a cannon with vertually no water to run your sluice, or even a highbanker. I can set it up anywhere, the mountains with no water. I'll take 2 buckets up and recycle the water non stop. even the small highbanker your gonna have allot of problems setting up where I go. 1 piece of equipment I can set up on the river, at home, the desert, where ever. and I garrenty you won't want to carry 50+ pounds of crap up where I go. even if it's just a small pump hose and battery for the highbanker plus the highbanker itself. youd kill yourself trying. I own a Bazooka and I carry my small mini for prospecting where is can. if there's not allot of water I carry my pyramid and maverick. the pyramid itself is my clean out pan and I'll do that all day and then go through it right there And clean up at the end of the day. then once I'm done I'll take an either pan it out with the maverick, or take it home to run the super cons right back through the grizzly. it works very nice as a clean up sluice. I've got 1 keene a51. 3 bazooka gold traps, and the grizzly. and the grizzly is my favorite unit just cause it is so convenient and easy to use. you want something that can do it all. then it's the grizzly 3.I have the deluxe but that because I backpack to most the areas. and the gold I'm dealing with is between 20 and 150 if not smaller. and guess what the grizzly catches it all. if you want the best equipment then you will have to pay for the best. and chances are you won't find another piece of equipment out there that's does anywhere close to what you can with the grizzly. and personally if something is harder than it needs to be I'll figure out how to make it a lot easier. if your smart then the grizzly isn't hard at all to use. ask the guy who sells them hill tell you tins of tricks to make certain things easier on you.the bucket is just a way to make sure that no matter where you are you can use it. but don't bash something unless you've really had a chance to use it. not once. but got to know the equipment, how it works and the best way to make it work before you start trying to even think about criticize it. look at the hogpan for instance. now where I am. it wouldn't work period end of story. the blacksand here is ungodly. it's like the mud at the swamp. it settles fast and won't budge until you reach in and break it up. its light and goes away fast but if you don't keep it moving even in a pan it'll settle. you put it down and grab a drink and pick up the pan again it's practically a solid. it's nasty stuff and it would clog the hogpan in seconds. and the small sand here it just wouldn't work. but I've seen a guy use 1 in the lower part of the state. that's the hole reason I bought a Bazooka. after watching him use that pan I fell in love with fluid beds. there fast and easy to use. he burned through the material faster than I could load my bucket and found a grip. he even laughed at my Keene a51. he set up about 50 yard below me and burned through 10 times the material. in talking to him he wasn't laughing at the sluice he was laughing at how slow it was. and Bear bottom mining. I say good on ya. When you build something and you know it works because you use it and people start talking trash on it who know Noth about it then yeah I'd get mad to. he standing up for what he builds and uses. some may use it allot others may try it for a season and decide the don't like it. it's the same old Chevrolet Ford conversation. In conclusion Id suggest try it out. learn the insurance and outs of it. don't listen to all these people who've never even wanted to try it because they have never given it a chance. they take 1 look at it and judge based on that. Look at clean gold. it's completely magnetic. does it work hell yeah it works. I have the prospector. I use it to separate my fine gold. like super fines. and then what I don't get out or the blacksand I'll run through my blue bowl. and I usually get tons of fine gold. and fine gold is the purest form of go there is. I'm working on the filling up a big file of Nothing but ultra fine gold. but do people even give it a try. NOPE. all because they are letting what thry think get in the way instead of giving it a shot. So that's my advice. try it out for yourself. learn how to use it and perfect it. I'm sure the first time a guy went to the river with a pan and used it to pull gold out people thought he was stupid for even thinking it would work. now look the gold pan is your most important tool.

I have seen the product and have reports from a novice prospector that he gives it a thumbs up. Being at this prospecting hobby for years, I have seen a number of new products that have amazing claims of being better than anything else out there. We all know gold recovery is "time and material", the more material you move in the shortest time will make it more profitable as a hobby. This unit, while very expensive, does what it is intended for, quite well. It is not a production unit, but more of a portable sampling unit to see if you want to move in bigger equipment (highbanker, dredge, etc.) It comes down to what you want to pay for your hobby, Ping golf clubs or Spaulding, that is the question!

Lots of crap.....I for one will buy one. I will add a recirculating pump, and a line and pump for creek-side business. I'm gonna try it, going all in. I will report back with pure facts. Not horse-nuts gabbling.

I've got the Grizzly 3 now! Any ideas as to how I can add a spray bar? Also, I may add retractable legs.

I'm not seeing posts anywhere from Grizzly 3 owners with input, miners miss vs carpet, water bars, or anything. This is odd, compared to all other equipment. Hell, even antique rocker boxes have plenty of input. This is odd!

I have used the Grizzly Sluice III I find is one of the very best on the market and have had great success with it. I went to it since the BLM ND OTHER GOV agencies have outlawed high-bankers and fuel run motors. THIS IS THE ONLY SLUICE I HAVE FOUND THAT SAVES THE MOST GOLD and precious stones

I suspect the owner was (rightfully) ticked at a unfounded rude comment ... just saying! Prospectors/panners & the likes aren't necessarily known for ... class nor should they be! Sometimes the downright honest truth is ie facts is hard to take in these politically correct days. OK he used a little sarcasm but then ... more than likely the rude comment came from someone who has invented nothing, owns nothing (so to speak) and never will for several reasons. The owner who responded spent alot of time planning, designing, obtaining a patent, established a business, marketed his business and products and ... frankly got a little pissed. Wouldn't you???!!! Think about it! Oh, and I live in Canada and don't know either party.
