I was wondering what kind of prospecting wishes you have fulfilled, or what you'd like to do before you go to the big gold mine in the sky. Me, I want to dredge at least once in the mother lode country of Calif. Metal detect for nuggets and artifacts in the Arizona desert. I dredge and have found gold here on the east coast, mostly fine gold due to the age of the mountain range here in N.C. I want to to see that first nice size nugget in the sluice, find that small nugget or old west pistol cartridge or button in the desert. What about you guys?

Just lookin' for "Color" in my pan and have a smile on my face. Really, just bein' out in "God's Country" is all that matters. Ain't nuthin' like wakin' up in the mornin' and watching the world come alive. Sun shinin' through the trees, squirrels begin to scamper about, and the birds in flight overhead. That's when I really know that I'm alive. A five pound nugget would be nice though. LOL

i agree with steelpan! the best part of being a prospector is the perks associated with it like being in some of mother natures most beautiful places. i also do photography, so the scenery and wildlife is a HUGE perk! i have been blessed to be able to achieve most of my prospecting wishes so far, but here are a few i'd still like to see... -get an ounce in a day (1/2 oz is my current top) -do some serious (small small scale) lode mining -share stories with my kids and grandkids and give them the fever!! (gotta have kids and grandkids first though ) -find a nugget bigger than 1/2 ounce -stumbling upon a treasure cache would be nice

I'd like to hit another pocket on my claim that gave up 10 oz. in 9 day trip. Hit on the first year after buying the claim and haven't come close to that trip since. Worked a sharp inside turn but it became an extreme boulder bank, just to dangerous to work. I now scratch a couple oz. a trip for the same amount of effort and time. Looks like were going down around the bend this year to try and find one more pocket of gold.
