I went out and played in the water yesterday. I got skunked, but hey, what a great day! I got outa the house, got my wife outa the house, picked up Mom and headed out to the claim. I played in the water for a time, had a picnic, and got a good chance to look over a few claim sites. Pretty good water flow right now, although it is lower than it should be. I found, what could be, some rewarding sites. We'll see,......... A Bud and I are planning a serious trip later.

You dont have to dig all the way to Bedrock to find Gold but if there is Gold in your Creek the closer you get to Bedrock the more Gold you'll find.I'd do a bunch of Test Pans up and down the creek and see what you get...and Welcome to the Site !!!!!!Good Luck,
Jeff

Well, the road is finally open. Goin' out tomorrow. Totally new territory, at least for me, can't wait to see how it goes.

Had a great day Mon., found a little color. ( very little, LOL ) I'd like to go back and look in some places nearby. Dang, it's wonderful just to get out and away.

There is a creek not far from where I live in San Jose California, called San Lorenzo Creek. A fellow I work with said that there is Gold in there and that I should try panning it. I'm new to this and have a lot of questions. Can anyone tell me if they heard of such a thing? Any help would be appreaciated. PS. This Creek is in Santa Cruz California.

I'm here, but I don't know anything about the coast range around Santa Cruz.
